WOMBAT BOOKS ILLUSTRATION CHALLENGE

Congratulations to Year 8 student Leo N for being selected as a finalist in the Wombat Books ‘Yay! It’s Library Day’ Illustration Challenge. The challenge was established in order to provide aspiring young illustrators with the opportunity to be published in a professionally produced children’s book and to gain an introduction into the world of illustrating.

Over 600 entries were submitted from students around Australia and only thirty finalists were selected; one for each page in the book, written by well-known children’s author Aleesah Darlison. Leo’s illustration can be seen on the Wombat Books Facebook page and they may provide opportunities for him to illustrate work in the future. The book is due to be published in 2018.
